Design and Construction
The New Era SLR range was engineered to cast further and more accurately. Core to this performance is X45 Bias carbon technology, where high-grade carbon sheets are orientated at 45 degrees to one another. This construction transmits energy and compression evenly around the blank while resisting twist during loading, effectively doubling the control over blank twist and buckling. The result is a responsive, crisp recovery at the tip, delivering notably more precise line control, directional changes, and improved energy conversion for both accuracy and distance.
The innovative V-Joint system with an over-cap design allows the rod to maintain a constant taper profile internally. Unlike conventional over-cap joints, the New Era does not increase in diameter at each female joint and then reduce abruptly; instead, the taper remains even and constant, ensuring purer power transfer through the blank.
Each rod was exhaustively tested and fine-tuned by Hywel Morgan to ensure it delivers the intended line rating and can comfortably handle a range of line weights either side of that indicated.
