Exceptional Craftsmanship
The surround features a semi-nude female figure on one side, supporting the mantle with her beautifully carved face and hands, which also hold her robe beneath her naked breasts. Opposite, a beaded male figure holds a carved marble urn, with his face, hands, and fingers meticulously detailed. The robe carving is extraordinary. The surrounding panels and under-mantle carving are equally intricate, complementing the overall design.

This is an ex-display item, so it has been on show in a showroom and may show minor signs of handling. There is a small chip at the base of the female figure - not noticeable and easily repaired by a specialist marble fitter. As with all ex-display and clearance stock, prices are significantly reduced compared to new. This piece was previously priced at £8,500 and is now offered at £6,000.
