The Ridgeback Expedition is a dedicated touring bike built to keep you comfortable on long rides, whether carrying luggage or riding all day for leisure. This example is a size XS with a bronze finish, and it comes to us as an ex-display model from our Cambridge store. It may show some very minor marks from being on the showroom floor, but all components are intact and the bike is ready to ride.
Frame and ride position
The frame combines alloy tubing with steel stays, while the chromoly steel fork absorbs road vibration. The riser handlebar and positive rise stem bring the front of the bike higher, allowing a more upright riding position. Ergonomic grips give palm relief, and the integrated bar end provides an additional hand position to prevent fatigue on longer trips. A Shimano Alivio 27-speed drivetrain offers a wide range of gears, so you can spin comfortably up steep climbs without overexerting yourself.
Braking, wheels and mudguards
The Expedition stops with Promax DSK-300 mechanical disc brakes, giving reassuring power in wet or dry conditions. The 26 inch wheels are fitted with Schwalbe Marathon GG tyres, which are hardwearing, puncture resistant and have a reflective sidewall for better visibility in traffic. Full-length mudguards protect you from road spray, making this a practical choice for year-round touring. All key components are from Shimano, ensuring reliable shifting and long service life.

As this is ex-display stock, the price reflects its showroom condition and the fact it is end-of-line stock. Buying ex-display is a good way to save money on a high-quality machine, but you should always check the frame, gears and brakes for any signs of wear before committing. This bike is for collection only from our Cambridge store, so do make sure you can collect it before placing an order.
