This is a vintage 1987 board game from Oneliner, titled Fore: The Game of Golf. Part of a series of sports board games released in the 1980s, it brings a realistic simulation of a round of golf to the table. The game is designed for 2, 3 or 4 players and combines dice rolls with a set of 104 stroke cards. With over 10,000 possible shot outcomes, from a Hole in One to an Air Shot, every game plays out differently.
Gameplay and Contents
Using the dice and stroke cards, players negotiate clearly defined courses, making judgements about club selection and shot placement. The rules are simple enough for non-golfers, yet provide enough depth for professionals and amateurs alike. The game measures skill and judgement, with chance playing its part through the dice.

Condition and Provenance
This example is an ex shop counter display item. It spent a short time on display in a shop before being retired to stockroom, where it remained for more than 30 years as unsold stock. As a result, most of the components are still sealed in their original packets. The outer cardboard shows minor signs of handling and shelf wear, consistent with its time on display and long storage.
Because this is an ex-display, end-of-line piece, it is offered at a lower price than a brand-new example. Please check the condition notes and photographs before purchasing. Vintage board games can show age-related discolouration or wear to packaging, so this should be considered before buying. The game itself remains complete and unplayed, with the sealed packets preserving the pieces.
Fore: The Game of Golf is a distinctive piece of British board game history, and a rare find for collectors of vintage sports games.
